Yesterday the outside thermometer dipped slightly below 80 degrees and you know what that means….. Fall is here! In the South that means it is “wear a sweater in the morning and shorts in the afternoon weather”.
Something about starting a new season makes me feel like I have a fresh start. I have the opportunity to make these 3 months the best they can be. As such, below are a few of my favorite Fall-ish things or items I am personally using in this season.
Misc.
Marshmallow Fireside Candle– ALWAYS my favorite candle no matter the season. Unfortunately, Bath and Body Works does not seem to agree that this is a year-round scent.
Starbucks Peppermint Mocha – K Cups– My year-round go-to drink. These K-cups do a pretty good job of imitating the original, but there is nothing quite like the real-thing.
Ankle Ice Pack– Currently using because of an Achilles injury, but this ice wrap is a game-changer when it comes to icing your ankle.
Books
Live in Love by: Lauren Akins – Written by Thomas Rhett’s wife, this book tells the story of her life (and his because they grew up together). If you enjoy this book then you might be interested to listen to Lauren on Annie F Downs podcast.
Convicted by: Jameel McGee and Andrew Collins – An innocent man and the crooked cop who framed him. Wow! This book is so powerful. Such a great example of redemption and forgiveness.
Toys
Discovery Kids Fort Construction– I’m pretty sure that I get more entertainment out of this toy than my boys. I love the creativity with this toy and when it’s not put together it all fits into a easily-storable box.
Zingo!– This is such a fun game for toddlers and young kids. Think BINGO, but with pictures, along with an element of speed. Side note, my 4-year old niece handily beat me both times I played it.
Podcasts
Couple Things with Shawn Johnson and Andrew East – This podcast is the perfect mix of real-life issues and fun celebrity interviews.
Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard: Day 7– This might be the single most powerful podcast episode of which I have ever listened. If you know somebody who deals with addiction or if you personally deal with a type of addiction, Dax’s story and journey with addiction is relatable.
