My Favorite Podcasts

Okay, I’ll admit it. I am usually about 6 months – 1 year behind the trends. I’m that person who gets so excited to score a trendy item on clearance only to realize that it was trendy last year and nobody is wearing that particular item anymore. I see you gladiator sandals! Like most things in my life, I discovered podcasts entirely too late, but I am currently making up for lost time. I am not a music person so podcasts have become my companion as I clean, walk, drive, and shower (maybe TMI?). In case you’ve ever wondered what is causing such a pep in my step as I swiffer the floors and disinfect the counter tops, below is a list of my favorite podcasts: the good, the great, and the embarrassing.

Favorite “Faith Space” Podcast: That Sounds Fun by Annie F. Downs

  • Annie makes you feel like a friend and is a unique combination of encouragement mixed with humor, mixed with Jesus

Favorite Comedy Podcast: Don’t Make Me Come Back There by Dustin Nickerson

  • I saw Dustin Nickerson perform his stand-up set live and he was hilarious. His podcast is not necessarily a laugh-a-minute, but he does interview other comics and the conversation usually results in laughter.

Favorite The Office-themed Podcast: Office Ladies by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey

  • For anyone who is a fan of The Office. No need to say more.

Favorite Guilty Pleasure Podcast: Chrisley Confessions by Todd and Julie Chrisley

  • It has all of the drama! Mainly, I listen to this podcast because I watch their show, “Chrisley Knows Best”.

Favorite Wide Variety Podcast: For The Love by Jen Hatmaker

  • Admittedly, I have not listened to many of her podcasts, but she has been podcasting for a long time so there is a long list of episodes for listening. She has interviewed some LEGENDS!
What are your favorite podcasts? Let me know in the comments!

Friends, I know this is a tough season. Another week, another day of staying in our homes. I saw a post on some form of social media that suggested we re-frame our brains by calling it “being safe in our homes” vs “being stuck in our homes.” Changing that one word makes such a difference in my attitude towards being self-quarantined. However, your feelings are your feelings and you are allowed to grieve this season and all of the people and events you are missing. We will get through this.
