In April We Wear Blue

If you’ve seen a lot of blue and colorful puzzle pieces around that is because April is Autism Awareness Month! This month is very special to me because my oldest son is one of the 1 in 44 children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Our ABA Center had a fun celebration for World Autism Awareness Day

It is also the month in which he started ABA Therapy at his current location and that has been life-changing! There are a lot of opinions about ABA Therapy, but I can attest that his “center” is filled with kind, funny, encouraging people who are dedicated to each child’s learning. My favorite part is that they use a play-based approach to work with the kids. There is a playroom, a circle-time room, and a gym along with different stations like puzzles, sand, or play-doh. They have dress-up “spirit weeks” and they do arts and crafts projects. It truly is a bright and happy place and I am so thankful that God led us here.

Thank you to everyone who supports our family and chooses to follow along with us on our journey. I am so grateful to have people who love our family for exactly who we are.

If you are interested in learning more about ASD then I recommend checking out Autism Speaks.
